Dear Young Friends, I congratulate you on your decision to continue your higher studies with Mother Teresa Women’s University. There is no age bar for education (Life is a learning process). I am glad that you chose Mother Teresa Women’s University, which is one of the few Women’s Universities in India. It is customary for women and men in the Western societies to go for higher education when they realize that market demands new qualifications and new skills. Education now in our country also can be had in different phases, in different ages and positions. The spirit and energy that you have shown in overcoming socio-economic hurdles and coming here to get higher education and new skills deserves appreciation. Distance Education in Mother Teresa Women’s University has proved to be a role model for other universities in offering job oriented and knowledge building courses. It caters to different categories of women and domestic women, employed, unemployed, young and old, rural and urban, women with different levels of education and different qualifications in different regions, developed and underdeveloped. It has opened up new vistas of educational opportunities with multiple options offered in three different campuses-Kodaikanal, Madurai and Chennai. The University’s aim is to enable different categories of women to enhance their abilities and their qualifications and excel in their performances.
