West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee

Mamata trying to shield Tapas Paul, should sack him: BJP

West Bengal chief Minister Mamata Banerjee
Accsuing West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of trying to shield Tapas Paul, who has made controversial remarks, senior BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh said only an apology was of no use and he should be made to quit as Trinamool Congress MP.
“Two tapes of TMC MP Tapas Paul are out and Mamata Banerjee is still trying to shield him. This is the policy of Trinamool for TMC goons. Only apology is of no consequence, he should be made to quit his parliament seat,” Singh told PTI.
“West Bengal government should file a criminal case against him,” Singh said.
Banerjee had on Tuesday described Paul’s hate speech as a ‘big blunder’, but then wondered if she should ‘kill him’ for this and said whatever steps are needed to be taken have been taken.
“It is not just a mistake, it’s big blunder. We have taken whatever steps that are needed to be taken. It is an individual utterance. What do you want? Should I kill him? What can I do? Whatever I can do we can do it through our policy”, Banerjee told reporters yesterday.
Paul on Tuesday tendered unconditional apology for allegedly threatening to kill CPI-M workers and having their women raped after he was asked by an embarassed party leadership to do so and condemnded by opposition political parties as well as noted personalities.

137th rathyatra begins from Jagannath temple; PM Modi greets people

Amid tight security, the 137th Lord Jagannath’s rathyatra began on Sunday morning, with Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel creating history to be the first female CM to perform the pahindvidhi at Jamalpur’s Jagannath temple.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted people and prayed for peace, prosperity and rains in the country.

As per the century old tradition, elephants had the first glimpse of Lord Jagannath and are leading the procession through different parts of the city.
The chief minsiter reached Jagannath temple at around 6.45 am and performed the ‘Pahind Vidhi’ for the rathyatra with a ‘golden-broom’ (symbolic cleaning of the path for chariot of Lord Jagannath).
“On Ashaadhi Dooj (second day of waxing moon cycle in the Hindu month of Ashadh), performed Pahind Vidhi to mark the beginning of Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath,” Anandi Patel said on twitter.

After setting off from the over 400 year-old iconic temple, the rathyatra will traverse through about 14 kilometre route in the city.
As many as 18 elephants led the rath yatra followed by 98 trucks and a participation of 30 akhada and several bhajan mandali the rath yatra will cover a distance of 18 kilometre covering some of the communal sensitive areas of old Ahmedabad city including Dariyapur and Shahpur.
Hundrerds of devotees thronged the city streets across the route amid tight security right from early morning to witness the rath yatra that will conclude by evening. The procession halts at Saraspur, where the local people offer ‘Maha Bhoj’ to the entire entourage.

PM Modi, who used to perform ‘Pahind Vidhi’(symbolic path cleaning on chariot of Lord Jagannath) when he was the chief minister of Gujarat, recollected the fond memories and said that he cherished that experience. He was the only chief minister, who performed the ‘Pahind Vidhi’ ritual for record 12 times.
“As Gujarat CM, I had the honour to perform the Pahind Vidhi ritual during the Yatra in Ahmedabad. It is an experience I really cherished,” Modi tweeted.
“We bow to Lord Jagannath on this auspicious day. Today once again he sets out on his chariot, giving blessings to the people…My warm greetings to the people on the occasion of the Rath Yatra that would be held across India today,” Modi said on the microblogging site twitter.
We pray to Lord Jagannath for peace, prosperity and happiness in India. May Lord Jagannath bless us with good monsoon that will help farmers,” Modi said.

Arvind Kejriwal resigns: what next for Delhi?
FILE photo: Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung
New Delhi A day after Arvind Kejriwal quit as chief minister, plunging Delhi into the throes of political uncertainty, all eyes are now on Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung who has sent his report to President Pranab Mukherjee on the present political situation.

Mr Kejriwal handed over his resignation to Mr Jung yesterday along with the recommendation for dissolution of the assembly and holding of fresh elections after his pet anti-graft Jan Lokpal Bill was blocked by the Congress and the BJP in the state legislature.

As Delhi enjoys a special status of being a Union Territory, the Lieutenant Governor, who is Delhi's constitutional head, is not bound to act as per the outgoing chief minister's advice.

Mr Kejriwal's AAP government has already been asked to run a caretaker government for the next few days as an interim arrangement. (Read)

With Mr Kejriwal on his way out, the Lieutenant Governor's two-page report to the President could contain three probable scenarios.

First, Mr Jung could recommend keeping the assembly under suspended animation wherein the Lieutenant Governor steps in to take charge of Delhi's administration in consultation with his senior advisors. The Union Cabinet will have to take the final call in this regard and recommend it to the President for his approval.

The Lieutenant Governor could also invite the BJP to stake claim to form government. If the BJP, which emerged as the single largest party in the Delhi elections, declines, Mr Jung will write to the Home ministry, stating the factual position.

In that event, the Lieutenant Governor could then recommend the dissolution of the assembly. This will need the nod of the Home Ministry, which in consultation with the Prime Minister and the President, recommend imposition of President's Rule and paving the way for fresh polls.

Sources in the Election Commission have already told WWW.bornwithlion.blogspot.com that the panel is ready to conduct fresh polls in Delhi alongside the Lok Sabha elections, due by May.

Congress failed to gauge sentiment against Telangana bill: Minister

Vijayawada: Congress has failed to take into consideration the sentiments of over six crore people from Seemandhra region while approving the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation bill, state minister for Secondary Education K Parthasarathy said here on Saturday.

"The Union government should withdraw the bill from Parliament to do justice to Seemandhra people," said Parthasarathy.

He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the inauguration of a new building at the government hospital.

Parthasarathy demanded that members from all parties study the Telangana Bill in the detail and discuss it before taking a final decision on its passage.

The Bill was "introduced" in Lok Sabha on Thursday amid unprecedented turmoil that saw MPs from both sides of the regional divide slugged it out on the floor of the House.

He alleged that TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu was responsible for the current situation. "Naidu is responsible for this as he had submitted a letter agreeing to bifurcation to the Home Ministry," the minister said.

Parthasarathy also accused BJP of playing a "double game" on creation of the new state by deviating from its earlier stand of backing the bill.

Pepper spray act likely to turn controversial MP into hero in Vijayawada

Pepper spray act likely to turn controversial MP into hero in Vijayawada
Vijaywada:  Andhra cuisine is known to be spicy and peppery, but in Vijaywada in central Andhra Pradesh, pepper has suddenly got new significance.

L Rajagopal, the MP from Vijayawada who put India to shame by using pepper spray inside the Parliament on other MPs, may well be received like a hero in his constituency. From being attacked with slippers and stones by voters months ago, the atmosphere at his residence in Vijayawada today is a complete contrast - posters calling the MP a leader, policemen on bandobust and brisk activity outside by party workers.

"L Rajagopal is there to prevent Telangana. He has proven a point. When he comes we will invite him and that will be our festival" says Sharat Babu, youth Congress chief of Vijayawada.

However, the average voter on the ground does not agree. "Whether I vote or not for Rajagopal is another point. I may or may not be against him - but I want a peaceful representation of my voice through my MPs in the Lok Sabha. I expect them to behave like gentlemen" says Bhavani Prasad, a senior citizen.

"I agree there was such ugly chaos. It is PM and Sonia's fault. They did not do their homework either on the subject and ignored the fact that the bill being tabled could provoke a situation like that," said Pattabhirama, a member of the Andhra Prasdesh Chamber of Commerce.

With emotions running so high on both sides of the state, the fear is that such acts could only make the divide more apparent and wide.

"If the state is divided, certainly the problem will continue. Are we to expect such similar scenes here on the ground?" asks Matta Jayakar, a senior advocate and member of the Joint action committee for a United Andhra Pradesh.

Until recently, political experts had written off the careers of several MPs from Seemandhra, especially from the Congress, believing that not much was done to stop the formation of a separate state. There is suddenly a sense of hope for their supporters now. While Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy may choose the option of starting a new party after consulting MPs and MLAs from Seemandhra, YSR Congress chief Jagan Reddy and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu too are revamping strategy to get the edge over the others in Seemandhra. Meanwhile, several citizens of the Seemandhra region plan to fill trains to New Delhi to protest against the passing of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill before February 21, when the Parliament session ends.

Telangana: What is Andhra Pradesh CM Kiran Kumar Reddy’s next move?

Hyderabad, Feb 15: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy is keeping everyone guessing about his next move even as the central government tabled in parliament a bill to break up the state.
Speculations were rife that he would quit the day the bill for the formation of a Telangana state is tabled in the house. He however chose not to resign Thursday when the bill was tabled in the Lok Sabha amid unprecedented ruckus.
Adding a twist, the chief minister – who strongly favours a united Andhra Pradesh – said resignation was only one of the options before him to lodge his protest.
Kiran Reddy, who openly defied the Congress leadership over Telangana, is consulting his party colleagues from the Seemandhra (Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra) region.
The chief minister had earlier dared the central government to table the bill in parliament.
“If the bill is tabled and passed in parliament, I will quit politics,” he had said Jan 30, the day his resolution rejecting the Telangana bill was passed by voice vote in the state assembly.
After the bill was moved in parliament, he again attacked the central government but did not say when he would quit.
He also remained non-committal on floating a new political party on the planks of united Andhra.
Kiran Reddy, who emerged as the new champion of united Andhra four months ago by openly defying the party leadership, had earlier dissuaded his cabinet colleagues and legislators from Seemandhra from quitting.
He had told them to wait till the defeat of the bill in the state legislature. “We will take a collective decision on resignations,” he had then said.
The 53-year-old, a cricketer in his college days, has once remarked that no game gets over till the last ball is bowled. Clearly, he believes there are many balls still to be bowled.
Political observers say since central ministers from Seemandhra have got into a combative mood in parliament, the chief minister may be waiting for an appropriate time to strike.
Sources close to the chief minister have not ruled his resignation along with the mass resignations of the central and state ministers, MPs and state legislators.
Some believe that Kiran Reddy may put in his papers Feb 17, when the bill is likely to be taken up in the Lok Sabha for debate.
Kiran Reddy, who took his battle for united Andhra to the national capital last week by protesting at Jantar Mantar, had refrained from attacking Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. However, after central minister Pallam Raju found fault with Manmohan Singh’s statement on disruptions in parliament, Kiran Reddy also trained his guns on the PM.
“I cannot understand why he could not see how the hearts of crores of people are bleeding because of the bifurcation decision,” he said after Manmohan Singh commented that his heart bled on seeing disruptions in parliament.
Kiran Reddy even found fault with Manmohan Singh for hosting a lunch for leaders of the ‘communal’ BJP to get their support for the Telangana bill.
Opposition parties, however, say that Kiran Reddy was acting according to the Congress leadership’s script.
“The Congress is playing a new drama by using him as the YSR Congress has weakened in Seemandhra,” said Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Interestingly, YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy blames both Kiran Reddy and Naidu for the bifurcation decision.

Child With Severe Burns Returns Home From Hospital

Friday February 14, 2014 5:18 PM
UPDATED: Friday February 14, 2014 6:51 PM
A six month old is home with his family after nearly a month in Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

The family of six month old Hunter Hammons says he was severely burned by a caregiver on January 17, 2014.

The six month old was released from Nationwide Children’s Hospital on Thursday.

10TV spent time with Hunter and his family at their Mount Vernon home on Friday.

Hunter's paternal grandfather, Garry Hammons, says they are thankful to have him home.

“It is just a blessing to have him here,” said Hunter’s grandfather, Garry Hammons. “He is doing extremely well. Typical six-month old, you know, playing checking new things out."

Hammons says it was a very different story last month when Hunter was rushed to Nationwide Children's Hospital.

They say he suffered third and fourth degree burns on his leg and second degree burns on his arm.

His left leg had to be amputated from the knee down.

Hammons says none of this affected Hunter's spirit.

"You look into these beautiful eyes and you see strength, and love, and hope," said Hammons

The family says Hunter's spirit, and the support received by both Nationwide Children's Hospital and the Ronald McDonald house, got them through Hunter's many surgeries.

And Hammons says it will give them strength as they continue with his rehabilitation.

"That and faith is what kept us going and will keep us going,” said Hammons.

Mount Vernon Police are investigating this case.

So far, no one has been charged.

20 Reports Of Windows Being Shot Out In Southern Delaware County

Someone is shooting out windows in southern Delaware County.

Powell police said there have two dozen reports since January 1, with the bulk of the crimes reported just last week.

10TV obtained multiple photos of the vandalized vehicles.

Mark Pickard said one of his daughter’s car windows was shot out, “I was leaving to go to work and I backed out of the driveway and noticed the glass in the street.”

Pickard said his daughter had parked her car on the street outside their home.

Powell police said they’ve taken ten similar reports in the city. There have also been reports in Liberty and Orange Townships.

Powell detective Ryan Pentz said in all of the cases, the vandal used pellets and marbles for ammunition, but the weapon is unknown.

“It could be an airsoft gun, when you’re talking about a pellet. Regarding a marble, it could be projected several different ways,” Pentz said.

Police said the suspects have also smashed a window at a house and business. Detectives say the vandalism appears to be random.

Police say teens are likely responsible for the crimes. They are requesting anyone with information to call.

Words From Madiba: 14 Of Nelson Mandela's Best Quotes

MandelaBono 2002 Reuters Nelson Mandela, the former president of South Africa and celebrated political leader, passed away on Thursday at his home.

The 95-year-old inspired millions worldwide with his courage and timeless devotion to uplifting those most in need. Below we've gathered several of Mandela's best quotes that embody his mission to fight for equality and harmony for all people.
1. I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.
2. There is no passion to be found playing small - in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.
3. Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.
4. In my country we go to prison first and then become President.
5. If the United States of America or Britain is having elections, they don't ask for observers from Africa or from Asia. But when we have elections, they want observers.
6. If there are dreams about a beautiful South Africa, there are also roads that lead to their goal. Two of these roads could be named Goodness and Forgiveness.
7. Any man or institution that tries to rob me of my dignity will lose.
8. Unlike some politicians, I can admit to a mistake.
9. Our human compassion binds us the one to the other - not in pity or patronizingly, but as human beings who have learnt how to turn our common suffering into hope for the future.
10. There is no such thing as part freedom.
11. I can't pretend that I'm brave and that I can beat the whole world.
12. There are times when a leader must move out ahead of the flock, go off in a new direction, confident that he is leading his people the right way.
13. Our single most important challenge is therefore to help establish a social order in which the freedom of the individual will truly mean the freedom of the individual.
14. There are many people who feel that it is useless and futile to continue talking about peace and non-violence against a government whose only reply is savage attacks on an unarmed and defenceless people.

Caroline Berg Ericksen faced backlash in the media after posting this photo Instagram

Caroline Berg Eriksen Post-Baby Photo Outrage: Mom Faces Backlash In Media But Support From Fans [PHOTO]

More and more women are quick to show off their post-baby bodies just months after giving birth, leaving the impression that losing the baby weight is simple. Fitness blogger Caroline Berg Eriksen is the latest mother to post a selfie in lingerie on Instagram, revealing a toned mid-section and thin thighs, a shocking four days after having a child.
The photo got more than 20,000 likes after she revealed it to her 256,000 Instagram followers.
Media reactions to the photo were mixed, yet most of the 2,000 people who commented on it had nothing but positive things to say about Eriksen, who is married to pro soccer player Lars-Kristian Eriksen.

Caroline Berg Ericksen

Eriksen faced media backlash, with one Australian blogger stating: “This whole situation has become ludicrous. The competition for women to give birth and then immediately remove any trace from their bodies that they ever carried a child is OBSCENE. There is no other word for it."
Along with the picture, Ericksen wrote, “"I feel so empty … 4 days after birth,” Her followers were mostly supportive. “@Itsjustdoug34” wrote, “I think the backlash you’re getting from this pic is stupid. You have the right to take care of your body. That doesn’t make you less of a mother. I wish people would grow up. If you don’t like the way you look, don’t bash others [sic].”
“Congratulations on your new baby and on getting your pre-baby body back. Pay no attention to the negative comments … you should be proud of both,” said “@aldavilla1.”
“@blueknight1991” wrote, “Sorry for all the controversy, I see nothing wrong with being proud of yourself. Some people are always just going to hate what they can never be … You keep doing you!!”
Pregnancy and dealing with body image has always been tricky for women, as being thin is seen as the “ideal” beauty standard in our society. However, after gaining weight for nine months to bring life into the world, body size should not really be one’s primary concern. Yet, now more than ever, sharing one's body photos via “selfies” and on social media has become a way of gaining acceptance and self-worth in cyberspace.
Celebrities have engaged in the practice as well, whether through posting a selfie or covering a fitness magazine shortly after giving birth, with no signs of having ever gained weight. Kim Kardashian famously posted a photo of her pert derriere just months after giving birth to North West this year, and her newest friend, Blac Chyna, posted a photo of herself in her underwear shortly after giving birth to her son with rapper Tyga.
But the truth is that new mothers are supposed to take their time while losing the weight, as it is much healthier for their bodies. Before starting any exercise program after having a child, women should get permission from their doctors. They usually recommend waiting six to eight weeks post-partum. In addition, most new mothers are too busy focusing on the latest additions to their family to head to the gym for hours every day.
What do you think of Eriksen's photo? Is she sending the wrong impression to new mothers or is it now an expectation that women get their bodies back quickly?

Every Indian Must Know : Real story of American Dollar v/s Indian Rupee

Every Indian Must Know : Real story of American Dollar v/s Indian Rupee

WHY IS THE INDIAN RUPEE FALLING V/S AMERICAN DOLLAR?
IS THE AMERICAN ECONOMY BOOMING? NO!
THEN WHY IS THE INDIAN RUPEE GOING DOWN?
WHAT CAN WE DO TO STOP THE FALL OF THE INDIAN RUPEE?

Real story of American Dollar v/s Indian Rupee
(Very Interesting Article MUST SHARE)
An Advice to all who are worrying about fall of Indian Rupee

Throughout the country please stop using cars except for emergency for only seven days (Just 7 days)

Definitely Dollar rate will come down. This is true. The value to dollar is given by petrol only. This is called Derivative Trading. America has stopped valuing its Dollar with Gold 70 years ago.

Americans understood that Petrol is equally valuable as Gold so they made Agreement with all the Middle East countries to sell petrol in Dollars only. That is why Americans print their Dollar as legal tender for debts. This mean if you don't like their American Dollar and go to their Governor and ask for repayment in form of Gold,as in India they won't give you Gold.

You observe Indian Rupee, " I promise to pay the bearer..." is clearly printed along with the signature of Reserve Bank Governor. This mean, if you don't like Indian Rupee and ask for repayment,Reserve Bank of India will pay you back an equal value of gold.(Actually there may be minor differences in the Transaction dealing rules, but for easy comprehension I am explaining this)

Let us see an example. Indian petroleum minister goes to Middle East country to purchase petrol, the Middle East petrol bunk people will say that liter petrol is one Dollar.
But Indians won't have dollars. They have Indian Rupees. So what to do now? So That Indian Minister will ask America to give Dollars. American Federal Reserve will take a white paper , print Dollars on it and give it to the Indian Minister. Like this we get dollars , pay it to petrol bunks and buy petrol.

But there is a fraud here. If you change your mind and want to give back the Dollars to America we can't demand them to pay Gold in return for the Dollars. They will say " Have we promised to return something back to you? Haven't you checked the Dollar ? We clearly printed on the Dollar that it is Debt"
So, Americans don't need any Gold with them to print Dollars. They will print Dollars on white papers as they like.

But what will Americans give to the Middle East countries for selling petrol in Dollars only?

Middle East kings pay rent to America for protecting their kings and heirs. Similarly they are still paying back the Debt to America for constructing Roads and Buildings in their countries. This is the value of American Dollar. That is why Many say some day the Dollar will be destroyed.

At present the problem of India is the result of buying those American Dollars. American white papers are equal to Indian Gold. So if we reduce the consumption of petrol and cars, Dollar will come down

The Above Details are translated originally from Telugu Language to English by Radhika Gr.
Kindly share this and make everyone aware of the facts of American Dollar V/s Indian Rupee.

And here is a small thing other than petrol , what we can do to our Indian Rupee

YOU CAN MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE TO THE INDIAN ECONOMY BY FOLLOWING FEW SIMPLE STEPS:-

Please spare a couple of minutes here for the sake of India.
Here's a small example:-

At 2008 August month 1 US $ = INR Rs 39.40
At 2013 August now 1 $ = INR Rs 62

Do you think US Economy is booming? No, but Indian Economy is Going Down.

Our economy is in your hands.INDIAN economy is in a crisis. Our country like many other ASIAN countries, is undergoing a severe economic crunch. Many INDIAN industries are closing down. The INDIAN economy is in a crisis and if we do not take proper steps to control those, we will be in a critical situation. More than 30,000 crore rupees of foreign exchange are being siphoned out of our country on products such as cosmetics, snacks, tea, beverages, etc. which are grown, produced and consumed here.

A cold drink that costs only 70 / 80 paise to produce, is sold for Rs.9 and a major chunk of profits from these are sent abroad. This is a serious drain on INDIAN economy. We have nothing against Multinational companies, but to protect our own interest we request everybody to use INDIAN products only at least for the next two years. With the rise in petrol prices, if we do not do this, the Rupee will devalue further and we will end up paying much more for the same products in the near future.

What you can do about it?
Buy only products manufactured by WHOLLY INDIAN COMPANIES.Each individual should become a leader for this awareness. This is the only way to save our country from severe economic crisis. You don't need to give-up your lifestyle. You just need to choose an alternate product.

Daily products which are COLD DRINKS,BATHING SOAP ,TOOTH PASTE,TOOTH BRUSH ,SHAVING CREAM,BLADE, TALCUM POWDER ,MILK POWDER ,SHAMPOO , Food Items etc. all you need to do is buy Indian Goods and Make sure Indian rupee is not crossing outside India.

Every INDIAN product you buy makes a big difference. It saves INDIA. Let us take a firm decision today.

we are not anti-multinational. we are trying to save our nation. every day is a struggle for a real freedom. we achieved our independence after losing many lives.
they died painfully to ensure that we live peacefully. the current trend is very threatening.

multinationals call it globalization of indian economy. for indians like you and me, it is re-colonization of india. the colonist's left india then. but this time, they will make sure they don't make any mistakes.

Russia, s.korea, mexico - the list is very long!! let us learn from their experience and from our history. let us do the duty of every true indian. finally, it's obvious that you can't give up all of the items mentioned above. so give up at least one item for the sake of our country!

We would be sending useless forwards to our friends daily. Instead, please forward this to all your friends to create awareness.
