MLAs move to Jagan camp; AP govt may fall


Hyderabad, Dec 21: Kiran Kumar Reddy's government in Andra Pradesh is facing an acid test after 24 Congress MLAs announced their support to YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who is planning to float his party in coming days.

According to sources from Hyderabad, 24 MLAs have announced their open support for Jagan and the number may increase upto 50. With growing tension on government, Congress has started damage control measures to prevent the flow of more MLAs to Jagan camp.


Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday, Dec 21 announced Rs 400 crore financial aid for the farmers in Andra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, Jagan was continuing his 48 hours fast for the cause of farmers in the state. Jagan started 'Laksha deeksha' on his birthday, Dec 21. More than two lakh people participated in the fasting.

Earlier on Monday, Dec 20, police forcibly hospitalised TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu, who was on indefinite fast for farmers.
