Bachelor of Arts (B.A)


(3 Year Course)
Minimum Admission Requirement (O.2138)

A candidate for being eligible for admission to the three year integrated course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Arts must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII) examination conducted by the different Divisional Board of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, with the following subjects :- i) English
ii) Any one of the Modern Indian Languages or Modern Foreign Languages or any Classical Language.
iii) Any four subjects carrying 100 marks each.

OR


Must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII) Examination with Vocational subjects conducted by the different Divisional Boards of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education with the following subjects :-
i) English
ii) Any one Vocational subject carrying 200 marks prescribed by the Board from time to time.
iii) Any three subjects carrying 100 marks each.


OR

Must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII) examination with the Minimum Competancy based vocational courses conducted by the different Divisional Boards of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, with the following subjects :-
i) English
ii) Any one of the Modern Indian Language or Modern Foreign Language or Classical language.
iii) General Foundation course.
iv) Any one subject carrying 300 marks from among the Minimum Competancy based Vocational courses prescribed by the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination from time to time.

OR

Must have passed an examination of another University or Body recognised as equivalent thereto.

Master of Arts (M.A)

(2 Year Course)
Minimum Admission Requirement (O.2138)

A candidate for being eligible for admission to the course leading to the degree of Master of Bachelor of Arts must have passed the examination for the degree of Bachelor of Arts (three year integrated course) of this University or the degree of Bachelor of Arts (old i.e. four year course) of this University or a degree of another University recognised as equivalent thereto. Provided , however, that applications of graduates of this University in the Faculties other than the Faculty of Arts , or those who have passed the equivalent examination of another recognised University seeking admission to the M.A. degree course by papers, will be considered by the Academic Council on the merits of each individual case, on the recommendation of the Head of the University Department concerned/Chairman of the Board of Studies concerned in the subject in which there is no University Department/Principal of a College where the Post-Graduate centre is granted , and in the case of a student seeking admission to the course by research , on the recommendation of the Chairman of the Committee of recognised such applications, the following procedure shall be followed :-

i) A written test consisting of 2 papers as under , shall be administered in the subject in which the student desires to register for this M.A. degree :-
(a) An essay paper in the subject
(b) A paper to test the student's general acquaintence with the subject.

N.B. :- Candidates shall be given a list of books for period rapid reading before they are examined.

Bachelor of Education(B.Ed.)

(Full & Part-Time)
Minimum Admission Requirement (O.3639)

A candidate for the degree of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) must have passed a Bachelor's degree examination of this University or a corresponding degree examination of any other University recognised as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 45% marks in the aggregate at the Bachelor's degree examination and must have offered subjects relating to secondary/Higher Secondary level as per the requirements laid down by the State Government in that regard. Relaxation of the minimum percentage of marks at the Bachelor's degree examination for candidates from Reserved Categories and serving teachers will be as per State Government rules made from time to time in that respect.In addition the candidate must have subsequent to his passing the Bachelor's degree examination.Kept two terms for the full-time B.Ed. and four terms for part-time B.Ed. course seperated ovr a maximum period of two and four consecutive years respectively in a college of education.

Completed a course of practical work extending over two terms for the Full-time course and four terms for the Part-time course to the satisfaction of the Head of the Institution in which the candidate is studying consisting of :
(a) Attendance at Demonstration lessons.
(b) Teaching practice of not less than 25 lessons distributed over different standards from

Vth to XIIth of recognised Secondary and Higher Secondary School selected by the Principal as Practising school. In addition to these 25 lessons there will be five compulsory micro teaching lessons.

Candidates who are eligible to teach Std.XIth and XIIth may be permitted to opt for both the special methods upto XIIth Std.
(c) Observation of Teaching as directed.
(d) Intenship of at least one week's duration.
(e) (i) One of the work experience projects of Maharashtra State Syllabus.
(ii) Participation / Organisation of co-curricular activities.
(iii) Chalk Board work and Audio-visual Education.

The examination for the degree of B.Ed. shall consist of Part A- Theory external Assessment and Part B - Practicum Internal Assessment. Details given in R.3793 and R.3794.

M.Ed. (Physical Education)

(Regular & Part-time)
Minimum Admissions Requirement (O.2829)

To be eligible for admission to the course for the degree of Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed), a candidate must have passed the examination for the degree of Bachelor of Physical Education (B.Ed. Physical) of this University or Body recognised as equivalent thereto.
