13th Mar, 2010: The all-party Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) has snapped ties with the Telugu Desam party (TDP), saying that its ministers had failed to resign from their posts as agreed. It also blamed the attack on Telangana lawyers at Indira Park for the decision.
Prof Kodandaram, the JAC convenor, said the decision was taken at a meeting attended by TRS chief KCR, Prof Jayashankar and other members of the JAC. The TDP had earlier accused Kodandaram of acting on behalf of KCR, and relations between the TDP and the JAC had been quite sour for some time.
The Congress had walked out of the JAC long back. The BJP, too, has not being playing a very active role in the JAC's activities. The JAC is now left with primarily the TRS.
