Ladies Hostel
UICT has a rich tradition of accommodating female students. As the number of young women enrolling with UICT continued to increase, the need for a hostel for the women students became imperative and a ladies hostel was established in 1996. There were 31 rooms in the hostel and 62 young ladies walked in proudly. However, due to the ever-growing demand for accommodation, the ladies hostel shifted to another bigger building in August 2005. This building has 60 rooms capable of accommodating 144 students Undergraduates as well as Post-graduates. Despite some shortage of space the residents of the ladies hostel are quiet content due to the homely and conducive atmosphere. They are provided with all basic amenities such as washing machines, water coolers, TV and 24 hours supply of hot water.
The hostel also has a good computer room and a study room. As this building has also reached its threshold in terms of accommodation, a need will soon arise to commission a building to accommodate at least 500 female students. Our students have been placed at top positions in organizations of national and international repute. It is hoped that the alumni of the ladies hostel will fondly remember the place where they built and cherished their dreams and will, in the tradition of UICT alumni, do their bit for the betterment of their alma mater.
