'Paisa Paisa' from DE DANA DAN is a chartbuster and is igniting the music charts. Featuring the principal cast of the film comprising of Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Katrina Kaif, Neha Dhupia and Sameera Reddy, the song has managed to stand out due to its glitzy picturisation and some addictive beats.
However, it wasn't that easy shooting for the song, as was in the case of Sameera Reddy. Stationed in Kuala Lumpur, she had to get into some frantic jet setting between Malaysia and India to shoot for her part.
"I distinctly remember that when the entire team of DE DANA DAN was shooting the video of 'Paisa Paisa', I was in Kuala Lumpur. It seemed improbable that I could have made it back to Mumbai for the entire shoot. However, I was so crazy about the song that come what may, I had to feature in it for some duration at least", remembers Sameera Reddy for whom dance is a passion, as evidenced in her earlier films, especially MUSAFIR.
Not to let go off the opportunity, she soon embarked upon a 12 hours return trip between Malaysia and India.
"It was really crazy as I took a flight from KL and straight away landed on the sets of DE DANA DAN at 8 AM. I shot for all the portions that I could and then took back the 8 PM flight. It was quite exhausting but when I see the final results, I feel really glad that I did it. I couldn't have missed 'Paisa Paisa' for anything", she smiles.
No wonder, the makers of DE DANA DAN were quite appreciative about her professionalism and lauded Sameera for her efforts.
"Yeah, they were happy. But as I said, more than them it was I who was so kicked about doing the song. I feel very strongly about my dance numbers because I know it's a great way to reach out to audiences", she reasons, "There is some great energy that you can bring on screen, as was also the case in 'Ishq Kabhi Kariyo Naa' (MUSAFIR) which is remembered till date."
What also amazes her though is the fact that some of her non-dance songs too have managed to make an impression over the years.
"Yes, I am aware that my music video for 'Ahista' (by Pankaj Udhas) is still played on. However, what surprises me most is to hear 'Thoda Sa Pyaar Hua Hai' from my debut film MAINE DIL TUJHKO DIYA to be so popular till date. I have heard it in interiors like Jalandhar, Itawa and even Bhubaneshwar. That's so amazing. After all that's what Bollywood has in its core – its songs and dances", she signs off.
